YB Datuk Wira Hj Ahmad Hj HamzahThe Malaysian Rubber Board is proud to announce the appointment of YB Datuk Wira Hj Ahmad bin Hj Hamzah as its new Chairman with effect from 1 May 2010. He succeeds YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Megat Zaharuddin Megat Mohd Nor. YB Datuk Wira Hj Ahmad Hj Hamzah is the Member of Parliament for Jasin since March 2008 and is the Committee Member of Badan Perhubungan UMNO Negeri Melaka since 2001. His experiences include being Chairman to EV Marine, PKNM Oil & Gas, Ekspo Melaka Sdn Bhd and Equatorial Hotel Sdn Bhd. He also is the Deputy Chairman of Southern Hospital, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Melaka, Malacca International Trade Centre and Inkubator K-ekonomi. In addition, YB Datuk Wira Ahmad is a board member of Teknologi Pembuatan Melaka Sdn Bhd and Advisory Committee member to the Jasin Community College. YB Datuk Wira Hj Ahmad Hj Hamzah served in the Malaysian armed forces as an officer with the post of Captain from 1968-1978. From 1997-1999 he was appointed as a Melaka Government Exco member holding the portfolio of Agriculture and Rural Development and from 1999-2004 holding the portfolio of Industrialisation, Science and Technology. From 2004 - 2008 again he held the post of State Exco for Industrialisation, Trading, Entrepreneur Development and Corporation. The appointment of YB Datuk Wira Hj Ahmad Hj Hamzah as the new MRB Chairman would certainly push MRB to greater heights in its research and development work for the Malaysian rubber industry.
