Merlimau postal voters cast ballots today JASIN: Postal voters of the Merlimau state by-election, polling for which is on Sunday, cast their ballots on Wednesday at the Jasin District and Land Office here. All the 36 postal voters are police personnel. Thirty-one police personnel, among them four women, cast their ballots from 11.30am. Five police personnel, who are on outstation duty, will have their ballots posted to them, said Returning Officer Roslan Eusoff. "The voting proceeded smoothly," he told reporters. Roslan Ahmad, the Barisan Nasional candidate in the by-election, took some time off from his campaign rounds to visit the voting centre. Roslan, 44, is engaged in a straight fight with Yuhaizad Abdullah, 38, of PAS in the by-election, which is being held following the death of the BN assembly Datuk Mohamad Hidhir Abu Hassan, 56, on Jan 20. - BERNAMA Put your stuff here |
